Your privacy matters to us

We protect your personal information.  We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to fulfill your order (such as when we provide your credit card number to our merchant card processor).  We do not "spam" by sending unsolicited emails if you contact us at info@deeprivereditorialservices.com, or at any other email address we might use in the future.  Our full privacy statement can be read below.

Collecting information about you

When you visit our website, we collect your IP address and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website. When you are using our website, we collect information about pages you visit, items you place in your shopping cart, and other similar information related to the steps you take when you browse, search and shop on our website.

We do NOT connect any of this information to you personally or individually; in fact, we will never know who you are unless you email, telephone, fax, or write to us by mail.

This data collection is done by a third party called StatCounter, which retains this sort of information on a secure server for us for a short period.

We collect data for one reason, and one reason only: so that we can understand how people are finding us on the internet, and how they use our website. We make adjustments to our site from time to time based on this data.

Using cookies

When you access our website, StatCounter may place a small data file called a "cookie" on your computer. This enables us to be able to gather the information we collect that's described above.

You can “disable” cookies to use our website if your browser permits. That's entirely okay with us!

Protecting and storing personal information

“Personal information” is information that can identify you.

At Deep River Editorial Services, we use computer safeguards such as firewalls.  We enforce physical access controls to our building and files with an active alarm system and required identification of anyone entering our data storage area.   We shred paper copies of customers’ personal information printed out in the course of processing invoices.  We authorize access to personal information only to fulfill responsibilities to our clients in getting the job done.

Using the personal information we collect

Over the course of our relationship with you as our client, we will keep a file with your name or business name, contact information, jobs desired/underway/completed, and so forth. Our purpose in collecting such information is to provide you with the services you want and need. We may use your personal information to:

Necessary sharing of your personal information to complete and process your payment

To process your payments, we need to share some of your personal information.

Sharing your personal information with others not mentioned above

With one exception, we do not share your personal information with anyone else unless you tell us to do so.

We never rent or sell customers’ personal information.  We don’t like it when other businesses do this, and we never treat our customers in ways we dislike being treated ourselves.

The one exception:

Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties when we are under subpoena, court order, or other similar legal requirement, or when we need to do so to comply with a State or Federal law.  In more than 10 years of online business, we have never had to do this.  But we need to state it in writing, anyway.

Restricting Deep River Editorial Services from sharing your personal information

As we have explained above, we need to share your personal information with our merchant card processor.  We need to share your shipping address with one of our shipping partners (USPS, UPS, FedEx) in order to send you  your purchase.

But we do NOT share with anyone else.

We also do NOT send you any promotional emails without your prior consent.

We do comply with Federal and State laws as described above, as all businesses are required to do.

However, if you would like to be sure, just send us an email at info@deeprivereditorialservices.com with subject “Privacy, Please” and message:  “Please do not share my personal information in any way beyond what you must do to invoice, collect payment, ship my product (if applicable), and comply with US Federal and State laws.”
