Rates for our services
We charge by the hour or by the project. Hourly rates are determined by the type of service desired, and generally they are applied to shorter projects. Turn-around time will be determined by the length and complexity of the project. An estimate of time will be provided before the project begins. Very small projects (such as proofreading a short academic essay) will usually be completed within 24 hours. If your job requires fast completion, please let us know this when you contact us so that we can schedule the work to meet your timetable.
For new customers, we will proofread or copy edit a sample of 500 words at no charge. This is a one-time offer designed to let you become acquainted with our work.

Nonprofits holding 501(c)3 status with the Internal Revenue Service receive discounted services (10% off).
For small projects, we require a four-hour minimum payment. We will take on small projects for several people (such as students in a study group who all need proofreading/copy editing) as one project subject to this four-hour minimum. We also accept multiple small projects bundled together from a single client to fulfill this four-hour minimum in the most cost effective way possible for you

Larger projects (100+ hours)
We offer flat-rate payment for larger projects, negotiated on a case by case basis. The above hourly rates should provide a guideline. We will provide a statement of the nature of the work and the payment that will be made. For large projects, which we define as requiring 100 or more hours of our services, we require a down-payment of 30% at the start of the job and payment of the remaining balance upon finishing the assignment. Clients with whom we have established an ongoing relationship will be extended credit, with payment due at completion of the job.
